He was born on April 1, 1975 in Diyarbakır. He is originally from Diyarbakır. He has a daughter named Jinda Deniz.

Hakan Karsak joined Ankara Youth Theater and Yahya Kemal Beyatlı High School Theater Company in 1992 and entered the theater as an amateur. After a short time, he started working as a trainee at the Ankara Art Theater Acting Workshop. After high school, he entered the Construction Department of Afyon Kocatepe University. After graduation, he entered the Philosophy Department of Istanbul University and graduated from there.

He played in the plays Hastalık Hastası (1992), Beşten Yediye (1993), Zafer Madalyası (1999) at the Diyarbakır State Theaters. He took part in social responsibility projects in Diyarbakır Prison.

After the Düzce earthquake, he worked with UNICEF to rehabilitate children and young people affected by the earthquake and worked as a theater instructor in Düzce for 2 years.
