Somer Sivrioğlu was born on May 25, 1971 in Kadikoy, Istanbul. He is the father of two children.
His mother worked as a restaurant and bar.
He worked with his mother for many years and started restaurant business with the trainings he received from his mother.
He graduated from Bilkent University Tourism and Hotel Management department and later completed his master's degree.
When he was 25, he went to Australia in 1995 to study for a Master.
While doing his master's degree, he also worked in the hotels kitchen.
Affected by the diversity and vitality of the hospitality industry in Australia, Somer Sivrioğlu decided to settle permanently in Australia.
Somer Sivrioğlu opened a Turkish restaurant called Efendy in Sydney with his cousin.
The restaurant, which has many Turkish flavors on its menu, has become a brand that represents Turkish flavors abroad.
Sivrioğlu, who presented a radio program called Taste Journey for a period, also worked as a columnist.
From past to present, it has won many awards such as the best restaurant, and the best taste award 2013 local business award.
Efendy restaurant has become one of the best known flavor stops in Sydney.
The restaurant, which has many Turkish flavors on its menu, has become a brand that represents Turkish flavors abroad.
Later, he named his second restaurant, “Anise,” which he opened in 2016.
One of the names followed in the field of Somer Sivrioğlu, whose books are also included.
